Acoustic Listening Devices
These photographs document different acoustic listening devices developed for the Dutch army as part of air defense systems research between World Wars 1 and 2.
Curl
Speaking of wood, I’m really diggin’ Brent Sommerhauser’s Curl, which he set up in Seattle’s Greg Kucera Gallery, Inc.
‘Linger’ Bench
Indonesian designer Alvin Tjitrowirjo designed the ‘Linger’ Bench, a communal hand-made bench made of natural rattan wood. The design is obviously pleasing to the eye, yet what I particularly like about it the idea behind it: to get a group of people to come together and sit, linger, and socialize in it. Also, be sure to check out his three-person bench called “Mingle“.

Amanda Hughen
Amanda Hughen’s choice of utilizing wood as a canvas to develop carefully conceived and delicate work was the right one… The wood grain texture takes it to a whole other level!
Mercado Negro
Mercado Negro is a project by Ramon Coronado that turns an oridnary shopping cart and turns it into a chair, table, and lamp. Nice huh?
Many pics of the making of following the jump!

Vincent
I will come out and say it as is: I’m not a fan of Tim Burton’s work… Yet, I will admit the fact that I have just finished watching Vincent, his first stop motion film from ‘82 (which he did together with Rick Heinrich), and I actually enjoyed it. As for the rest of his work… ehhmmm still not diggin’ it.
