We became fans of Kathryn Macnaughton’s illustrations when she wrote us and mentioned that one of her major influences is vintage porn… All of the works in her portfolio have a great feel to them, as they carefully combine collage and drawing with a nice gamut of neonish-pastel colors. In 1949 Gjon Mili (photographer for LIFE magazine) visited Pablo Picasso in Vallauris, France. During his visit, he showed Picasso some photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark. Story has it that Picasso was immediately inspired and got to it, and these photos are the result.
A few months ago, we posted Ben Granoff´s Clint and Rosebud. The comic is beautifully crafted, with a fantastic story and dark, delicious humor. This time, Ben and Dov are back with a new comic titled “Dingleberry Blues.” For anyone who´s ever lived in NYC, you´ll surely realte to the story. Realistic at times and psychodelic at others, definitely pass the pipe and check it out. Hilarious…
