Far Away At Home

New book by good friend David Bellarosa about America today. Here is a selection.
-
On New Year’s Eve
She left before midnight
And never saw
That boyfriend again
She went home to her apartment
Got undressed
Sat on her couch
In the expensive lingerie
With her cats
And ate a tuna melt
By herself
- -
In the bathroom,
you lost your last baby tooth
It fell on the floor by the toilet
when you hit your mouth on the sink
You wouldn’t take the medicine
your mother was trying to give you
She sopped up the blood
with your socks
and gave you the money
- – -
He’s dead
He went to Detroit
And somebody killed him
- – - -
Don’t worry about me,
he said,
I’m not gonna be on the road
I’m gonna be selling to all the big guys
I’m gonna go national
I’m gonna get on planes
I’m not gonna be getting dressed up everyday
and getting in the car
not knowing where to go
David will tour the US this summer. You can buy a hard copy of the book here and an electronic version for kindle here.
