Extracts of Local Distance is an innovative architectural collage project by Frederic Gmeiner, Torsten Posselt, and Benjamin Maus. In it, countless fragments of existing architectural photography are merged into multilayered shapes. The resulting collages introduce a third abstract point of view next to the original ones of architect and photographer. In addition, they remind me of Julie Mehretu’swork, which I’m quite fond of.
