Melting Men
Melting Men is the title of Nele Azevedo’s ephemeral installation recently placed in the steps of the Concert Hall in Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt Square. Because it was 73 degrees out when the 1000 carved ice figures were placed there, it wasn’t long before they all started to melt, creating awareness of the potential threats of global warming and rising sea levels in an extremely visual and poetic way.
