New York High Line
The New York High Line is a vanguard urbanist project led by Diller Scofido + Renfro (with landscaping by James Corner Field Operations) which was opened to the public today! The project itself consisted in renovating a 1.45 mile-long elevated steel structure built in the 30’s for freight trains, and turning it into a public park with uninterrupted views of the Hudson River and the city skyline. The end result is brilliant in many many ways!

Isn’t this project actually led by James Corner and Field Operations?
@arbin:
I’m glad you pointed that out… seems like the project was a joint effort between the architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro (who did all of the infrastructure and overall design) together James Corner and Field Operations that did all of the landscaping…
Thanks!
