It’s hard to look at point of view works like these by Roma-based Mimmo Rubino and not think of the great Felice Varini. Yet, as long as the basic principle is executed on point, the overall effect will continue to feel freshhhh.

I’ve been spying on SpY for quite some time now. He’s from Madrid, he’s extremely talented, and is surely one of the best street artist out there. So, hopefully you’ll enjoy his playful installations as much as I do!

This is a project I did in 2005 (as part of the A.T.A.R.I. Collective) in Bloomington, Indiana. In essence, thirteen of us fixed our bikes with grills, baskets, and large buckets of paint (with a hose and nozzle attached to them, allowing us open/close it at our own will) and rode around dripping colorful paint around the streets of Bloomington… When re-tracing the streaks of paint on a map, a large drawing of Pacman emerges, well on its way to eat Indiana University’s campus.

Melting Men is the title of Nele Azevedo’s ephemeral installation recently placed in the steps of the Concert Hall in Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt Square. Because it was 73 degrees out when the 1000 carved ice figures were placed there, it wasn’t long before they all started to melt, creating awareness of the potential threats of global warming and rising sea levels in an extremely visual and poetic way.
